AUDIO GUIDE WILL BE INTRODUCED IN EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
In the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, new audio guide system will be introduced and a group more than 5 people will need to use this system from November 1. This is to reduce the noise in the museum and the cost of a headset is LE10 per person.

RAMADAN START AUGUST 22
This year's Ramadan started on August 22 and will last until 20th. Then it will be three day holidays. Major touristic attranctionas such as Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Mohammed Ali Mosque, Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings in Luxor, and Unfinished Obelisk and Aswan High Dam in Aswan will close ealier by the end of the holidays. The ticket offices close at 15:00pm, and the sites close at 16:00pm. Please note that the winter time has started from August 21.
TOMB OF HOREMHEB HAS OPENED IN VALLEY OF THE KINGS
Tomb of Horemheb, one of the best tombs in the Valley of the Kings, has opened to public again this summer. He was the general in Tuthankamen's period and he himself took the throne after Tuthankamen and his successor, Ay.

It has been long worried about the statue because of the air pollution in the city but the opening date of the new museum is still uncertain.

ROBOT CAMERA EXPLORED INSIDE THE GREAT PYRAMID
Dr. Zahi Hawass and his team explored inside the Great Pyramid in Giza with a robot camera to research another chamber. The camera traveled through the shaft from the Queen's Chamber and it reached another stone wall in front of the chamber. They're planning to continue the research for another 12 months.

SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW IN ABU SIMBEL
The sound and light show in seven languages started at Abu Simbel. The languages are; Arabic, Russian, Japanese, English, French, Spanish and German. Three shows are 7p.m., 8p.m., 9p.m. until Apr. 27 and 8p.m., 9p.m., 10p.m. after 28th.
QUEEN'S PYRAMID WAS FOUND IN SAKKARA
The remains of the pyramid of King Pepi I's wife were found in Sakkara by French archaeologists. It's about 4000 years old and in her burial chamber, pyramid texts were found which was believed to be written only in the kings' tombs.

A tomb with a sarcophagus of the ancient god Osiris was found at Giza, between Sphinx and the Pyramid of Chefren. It is said that there were tunnels to the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid from this tomb.

Archaeologists found more than 100 mummies in the Bawiti village of Bahariyya Oasis, about 330 kilos south of Cairo. It's said more than 10,000 mummies would be buried in this 2000 years old necropolis. One of the tombs will be open to public in November and 5 mummies will be on exhibit.

JAPANESE ARCHAEOLOGISTS DISCOVERED A PHARAOH'S SARCOPHAGUS
Prof. Sakuji Yoshimura's Waseda University excavation team unearthed a sarcophagus of a New Kingdom pharaoh in the tomb chapel in Dahshur, southern Cairo. The mummy was lost but numerous objects of the New Kingdom age were found.
